Release Summary

Google's most intelligent Flash workhorse yet, released three weeks after Gemini 3.7 Flash. Same introductory API price ($0.75/M input, $3.75/M output through 2026-12-31) but higher cost per completed task because the model works harder: $0.58 per Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index task at high reasoning, up from $0.40 on 3.7 Flash. Scores 59 on that index (high), 54.9% on HLE-Verified, 73.7% on DeepSWE v1.1, and 89.4% on Terminal-Bench 2.1. Available in the Gemini API as gemini-3.8-flash.
