Release Summary

Default Images API model in the ChatGPT Images 2.6 generation, for fast iteration plus animated GIF output, SVG export, a complexity setting, and markup-guided edits. OpenAI says generation is 50% faster than before, and low quality can return an image in as little as six seconds. Available in ChatGPT and Codex as Images 2.6, and in the API as gpt-image-2.6-flare. Same listed token rates as GPT Image 2.5 Flare: text input $5/M ($1.25/M cached), image input $8/M ($2/M cached), image output $30/M. Batch is not supported.
