GPT-6.1 generation of OpenAI's Sol tier: near-GPT Astra 6 performance for coding, computer use, and professional work at one-fifth of Astra's standard input and output token prices. Standard rates match GPT Sol 6 at $2/M input and $10/M output. Cache reads fall from $0.20/M to $0.10/M (95% off uncached input) and cache writes stay $2.50/M. A measured price per task at max effort is $0.72, below Sol 6 at $1.06. Available as gpt-6.1-sol in the API, ChatGPT Work, and Codex for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu. Not yet available in Chat. 1.05M context, up to 922k input, 128k max output, knowledge cutoff April 30, 2026. Reasoning effort is low, medium (the default), high, xhigh, or max. Fast mode is 2x Standard and is unavailable with EU data residency. Prompts over 272K input tokens are billed at 2x input and cache rates and 1.5x output for the full request. Uses the same safeguards stack as Astra.
